Uchida Research Group
Numerical and physical modeling of multiphysics problems in geotechnical engineering
Welcome
This
is a Geotechnical research group led by Assoc. Prof. Shun Uchida at
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Our research focuses on multiphysics
problems in the field of geotechnical engineering such as energy geotechnics, computational geomechanics and environmental geotechnics.
More specifically, these include coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical
modeling of
geomaterials, unsaturated soil behavior, solute transport in multiphase
deformable porous media, submarine landslide and
(bio)chemically-induced deterioration of geomaterials. Please visit our
Research page to learn more about our ongoing projects.
Postions available
Multiple openings for research studentship in numerical and physical
modeling of multiphysics geotechnical problems are currently
available. We welcome talented and dedicated applicants for
postdoctoral, doctorate and masters positions. Please visit Openings for more details.
