Misc. Notes

My current best guesses on who the Dad and Mom are...

***************************
Leonard Saul (1776-1827) & Eva Catharina Rubreckt (1768-1814)

1810: Pennsylvania > Westmoreland > Fairfield
5 males (0-9), 1 male (26-44), 2 females (10-15), 1 female (26-44)

Possibility 1: He was suppose to have 10 kids and moved into Ohio in 1815 (into Franklin Co.). It is possible they had Margaret right before moving. Also, he had a son Samuel (1830 census: Eden, Seneca, Ohio) and Margaret had a brother with this name.

1830 census (Ohio > Franklin > Mifflin)

Joseph Saul: 1 male 10-15, 1 m 15-20, 1 m 40-50; 2 females 10-15, 2 f 15-20, 1 f 20-30, 1 f 30-40
John Saul: 1 male 0-5, 1 m 5-10, 1 m 30-40; 2 females 0-5, 3 f 5-10, 1 f 10-15, 1 f 40-50

Possibility 2: Joseph was the son of Leonard & Eva (Joseph was b 6 March 1810, Weston, Greensburg, PA and d 5 September 1827, Montgomery Twp, Franklin, OH...he and his father were Killed in a well-digging accident). The Joseph house has someone the right age for both Margaret and Peter.

Based on the three references below, Hans Leonard Saul came to Pennsylvania in 1753 (or 1754) aboard the Neptune (he was from Germany). It looks like his brother (or some male relative) Johan Nicklas Saul came with him. He lived in Maxatawny Township (Berks County, PA).

According to the ref below, Leonard and his wife Margaret moved from Germany, prior to 1740, and located in Maxatawney Township. However, it states elsewhere that they came after 1747. They had (at least) two sons John and Leonard. He died in June, 1777. The son John died in April, 1809. The son Leonard was born about 1768, married, in 1784, a daughter of Jacob and Magdalene Kreigh. She died in 1787 (they had a daughter Elizabeth, born Jan 14, 1785). He then married Margaret Sughers. He died in Jan, 1833 in Berks County (and buried in Grimsville). Their children included: Jacob (b. Jan 6, 1792; m. Catharine Smith), Jonathan (b. June 10, 1801; m. Magdalene Rauch), Rebecca, Maria, Hannah (b. 1808), Sarah, and Catharine. They were all born (I believe) in PA.

Comment:
Both sons were still living in PA in 1850. I assume Margaret was in Ohio because her familty moved there (e.g., her dad). So, I guess that rules out Leonard and Margaret.
