Owen de La Pole died before 15 October 1293, leaving two small
childrenabout two and three years old.

The inquest postmortem was ordered 15 Oct 1293 and held in 1295 at LaPole. The jury reported that he died seized of the following manorsandestates: the manor of Mathravel in Kareynon, Soetlanverwodel withtheadjacent hamlets; the town of La Pole; the manor of Walwerne inKeveylok;the town of Mathlenli in Cavelok; the town of Lanlidelas inArwystli; themanor of Penpres in Iscoet with the adjacent hamlets; themanor ofTalgart in Arwystli with certain hamlets adjacent; and the townofLangerik.

Malcolm de Harley was ordered to take in hand Owen's lands and tenements.

In 1294 Owen's widow Joanna was assigned her dower in Walwerne andMathravel. The following year she had custody assigned to her oftwoparts of the lands and tenements in Powys, which were ofLudowicus(Llewelyn) de La Pole.
