Richard was the 2nd Baron Talbot, summoned to Parliament from 5
June, 1331, to 22 Oct., 1355, by writ to "Ricardo Talbot de CastroGoderici," County Hereford. This nobleman married Elizabeth, daughter andco-heir of John Comyn, of Badenach, in Scotland, by Joan, his wife,sister and co-heir of Aymer de Valence, Lord of Pembroke. In her right,claiming anno 1331, certain lands in Scotland, and adhering to EdwardBaloil, who then preferred pretensions to the crown, would have invadedthat country, but was prevented by Edward III, whose sister Joane hadbeen married to David Bruce, son of Robert Bruce, King of Scotland.Richard Talbot was seated at Goodrich Castle, was a Knight Banneret,Governor and Justice of Berwick 1337, Governor of Southampton 1339.Steward of the King's Household 1346.
