Roger was of Dudley, Worcestershire. See notes to ID6980. Frederick L. Weis, "Ancestral Roots" (5th Edition, 1982), p. 50, gives as his parents John de Somery and wife Hawise de Paynell (sister of Gervase Paynell), who also had Ralph de Somery, Baron Somery. Roger died by 08-26-1273. With his second wife, Amabilia de Gilbert de Segrave, he had Roger de Someri (b. 06-24-1255, d. 10-11-1291), Baron Dudley in 1290, m. Agnes (d. 11-23-1308) - Roger and Agnes had Margaret de Someri who m. John de Sutton I, Lord of Dudley Castle in 1326 (son of Sir Richard de Sutton).
