She remarried Havelick (in Los Angeles). Her obituary appeared on Dec 7, 1931 (Sandusky Register). It states she died the week earlier, had lived in Los Angeles for 20 years, and was blind the last year of her life. It does not mention children or other relatives (other than her two husbands).


She is listed in the 1880 census (Ohio > Erie > Sandusky > 121 > 19) living with her husband and daughter (and two servants).

She is listed in the 1900 census (Ohio > Erie > Oxford > District 37 > 10) living with her second husband. It also states she had no children. I’m not sure what to make of this (maybe she is referring to children with her second husband?).

She is listed in the 1930 census (California > Los Angeles > Los Angeles (Districts 501-750) > District 740 > 4) as a widow and living in the Hollenbeck Home for the Aged.


She is listed in the Richmond Directory (Indiana > Richmond > 1893 > Richmond, Indiana, City Directory, 1893 > 98) as a widow of Oswald. Maude is listed at the same address.

She applied for Oswald’s miltary pension on July 5, 1889 (and she was living in Indiana at the time)
