I am excited about Human-AI interactions. In my PhD thesis, I have focused on using Embodied Conversational AI to enable interactions that teach foreign languages. The AI can role-play with foreign language learners in immersive environments. Thus allowing learners to practice their language and conversation skills in various situational contexts. I have applied my research to enable one of a kind credit-bearing course at my university (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) -- "AI Assisted Immersive Chinese".
