Questions 3.29, 3.31, 4.1, and 4.6 from Ecker and Kupferschmid, Chapters 3 and 4. In addition, read Chapter 4 and Sections 3.9–3.10 in the text.

This homework will not be collected or graded. You need to do these questions in order to master the material and be ready for the first exam.

The first exam will be in class on Tuesday, September 28. Old exams will be placed online for review. The exam will contain one question from Homework 1 or Homework 2. Solutions to chapter 2–4 from the text are available on the course webpage.
