MATH1020 Calculus II
Maple Lab 1
Due: Tuesday, September 7, 1999.

This lab is to get you used to some of the basics of using Maple.

Let

\begin{displaymath}
f(x) := \frac{\frac{x}{3} + x \sin(\pi x^2)}{1+e^{x^2}}.
\end{displaymath}

1.
 Plot the graph of f. Make sure to pick an interval that clearly shows the major features of the function.
2.
Find f' and then plot f and f' on the same set of axes (use the same interval as in question 1).
3.
Find the maximum and minimum values of f.
