One 8 1/2 by 11 crib sheet of notes is allowed on each test. No other notes, books, calculators, laptops, cellphones, iPhones, iPads, Blackberries, Blueberries, Raspberries or any other aids are allowed.
Test 1: Expected in mid-October, in class. Topics will most probably include all the material covered by homeworks 1 through 6.
Test 2: Expected in the first week of December, in class. Topics will most probably include all the material covered by homeworks 7 through 12.
There will an optional final exam at the end of the semester for those unhappy with their previous grades. By taking the final, you give up all your previous grades. In other words, the grade on the final exam will supersede all the previous grades and will constitute 100% of your grade in the class, so do not take the final exam unless you are sure that you will do better than during the semester.
