Brayden Hollis

I am a Computer Science PhD Student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). I am under the primary advisement of Stacy Patterson and secondary advisement of Jeff Trinkle and am part of the Networked Systems Lab and the CS Robotics Lab. My general research goal is enabling robots for unstructured environments. Towards this end, my research interests include tactile skins, artificial intelligence, mobile robots, and robot sensing and perception.

Recent Work

Tactile Skin Acquisition

This project designs data acquisition and processing techniques for tactile skins with 10,000-1,000,000 sensor elements using Compressed Sensing.

Unmodeled Grasping

This project generates grasp plans for objects using just point cloud data.

RPI Rock Raiders

This is RPI's team for the NASA Sample Return Robot Centennial Challenge. The challenge is to design, build, and program an autonomous robot to find, identify, and retrieve objects under restrictions simulating an extraterrestrial mission.
