GOALS

José Holguín-Veras’ long term research goals are associated with enhancing the state of the art of transportation modeling and transportation economics, so that a complete picture can be developed on the broad impacts of transportation activity, and the most appropriate ways to model transportation phenomena. Professor Holguín-Veras’ main areas of work focus on:

(i) the integration of transportation economics principles into transportation modeling;

(ii) the use of large scale optimization techniques to model equilibrium of markets and transportation networks; and

(iii) the use of of information technology and information systems to support model building and enhance decision making.
