Pricing and Risk Management in Communication Services

In this research area, we are interested in developing pricing and risk management solutions for Communication Services, wired and wireless. Quality of Service (QoS) for guaranteed Internet service contracts has been one context for this research. QoS is specified by the loss, delay, delay-jitter, etc. experienced by the data in transit. The contracts can be of different durations, spot or forward, that offer different types of guarantee of access to specified level of bandwidth. Using single-domain service contracts, mechanisms for end-to-end contracts are developed. Market mechanism for resource allocation by providers is developed so that their risk management objectives are served.
