Introduction to this Special Issue on Cognitive Architectures and Human-Computer Interaction
This special issue has been assembled by editors and contributors who believe that cognitive architectures provide the most important new contribution to a theoretical basis for HCI (human-computer interaction) since the publication of The Psychology of Human-Computer Interaction (Card, Moran & Newell, 1983). In this introduction we provide a brief overview of what cognitive architectures are and why we find them exciting.
