My expectation is that all of the work you do for me in this class will be the work of one individual. Exceptions to this rule will be broadcast to the class over the class listserv.
As you will all find out, I explicitly encourage you to engage in public (using our listserv to broadcast a message to the entire) or private (one-to-one) discourse regarding the readings and topics raised in this class. Study groups are encouraged.
If any of you have any questions regarding current situations or future situations, remember that I am your first contact on this. Please come and see me.
50% for examinations
There will be three exams. The best two of the three exams will be used in computing your grade (25%) each. N.B., if you are satisfied with your grade on the first two examinations you do not have to take the third (during finals week). Everything is on the exam; Norman, all required readings, my lectures, guest speakers (if any), and so on.
Make-up policy for exams
There is no make up for missed exams. Since 50% your grade is based upon the best 2 of the 3 exams, if you miss one exam then this portion of your grade will be based on the remaining two exams.
40% for Task Analysis Projects
Individual and, occasionally, group task analysis projects will be assigned thruout the term. Collectively these will amount to 20% of your grade.
10% for class participation
Class participation includes discussion in-class as well as electronic discussion using the class listserv. Participation presumes attendence. Be sure to contact me in advance if you expect to miss more than two class sessions.
