(1) (posted 10/4/2010) Multiple postdoctoral positions in multiscale modeling in energy and bionanomechanics

Brief description:

There are multiple postdoctoral openings in the Advanced Computational Research Laboratory at RPI, Troy NY to work on a multiscale modeling projects in areas related to energy and bionanomechanics. Encouraged to apply are creative, self-motivated candidates with a sound background in computational mechanics.

Qualifications:        

1. PhD in Computational/Applied Mechanics or related field
2. Sound background in nonlinear solid mechanics
3. Sound background in FEM and atomistic methods (molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo)
4. Experience in developing large scale coomputational mechanics codes.
5. Experience in code development on massively parallel systems highly desirable

(2) (posted 10/4/2010) Postdoctoral position in multiscale modeling of crystal plasticity

There is an opening for a postdoctoral research position in the Advanced Computational Research Laboratory at RPI, Troy NY to work on an ongoing project involving the multiscale modeling of  polycrystal plasticity. Encouraged to apply are creative, self-motivated candidates with a sound background in computational mechanics.

Qualifications: 

1. PhD in Computational/Applied Mechanics or related field
2. Sound background in nonlinear solid mechanics
3. Understanding of crystal plasticity theory and computer implementation
4. Experience in developing large scale coomputational mechanics codes.
