Earthquake and the Fukushima-Daiichi Nuclear Reactors in Japan - short lecture notes (given during PNR class March 21, 2011)

Directions for printing PowerPoint slides as posters

  1. Create poster in desired format and size. The maximum size should be 34” x 58”.
  2. Recommended size: 34” (H) x 46” (W) in landscape format.
  3. To connect to the vccpltg plotter from the NES building follow the instructions on sambasrv specifically the plain text password patch and pmanager
  4. Select “Print” from the file menu.
  5. Choose the printer called vccpltg. This printer is the glossy plotter.
  6. Before printing, go to Properties, and then choose Advanced. Select the 36” x 60” paper.
  7. Print the file at this time.
  8. The poster will be available the next day…It takes ~6 hrs. to dry.
  9. Before touching the printed area, hang the poster and spray it with a fixative, available at the RPI bookstore or an art supply store. It prevents fingerprints from marring the poster.
