POETRY
I may not be very good at it, but I love to write poetry. In moments of
devine inspiration, the right words just seem to come to me, and I have to
write them down no matter where I am. For this reason, I've learned to keep a
pen and paper near my bed at night for those 3:00am inspirations. My favorite
poet is Robert Frost, and I wish I could write poetry as meaningful and
beautiful as his. Of course I fail miserably in this goal, but if you'd
like to see some of my attempts, I'm willing to embarass myself.
My Poetry
- The Perfect Earth
My dream for the future.
- Starry Night
Astronomy is not only a hobby, it's an obsession. The stars are my companions;
They cheer me up when I'm depressed, they help me find my way when I'm lost.
There's really no good way to describe the feeling that comes over me when I
gaze up at them. This poem is my best attempt.
- Love Is
A lesson that was first directed at an ex-boyfriend of mine, but that later
applied to me just as well.
- Where Are You
I believe that every lonely heart is familiar with this feeling.
- In Every Dark Cloud
My most recent late night addition. I feel very strongly about the message in
this poem, and because of this, I broke with my usual pattern and didn't try to
make it rhyme. I was afraid that changing the words in order to do that might
alter the meaning slightly, and it was too important to risk that.
