Jeffrey Beckford

Jeff is an Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering student from Billerica, Massachusetts and a member of the class of 2010. His past and current projects with Dr. Amitay include flow control using electro-active polymers, low speed wind tunnel renovation, and geometric effects on synthetic jets. He is the Volleyball Club President and current captain for the RPI men’s volleyball team.

Tom Buttner

Tom Buttner is a junior Electrical Engineering student working on the ONR project with John Farnsworth. Tom is also DJ and the Public Relations Director for the campus radio station, WRPI.

Brian Debronsky

Brian is a part of the Class of 2011, originally from Beacon, NY. He is studying Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, and is a member of the Varsity Cross Country and Track teams. He is a part of the Boeing Project.

Daniel Finigan

Dan is a dual Aeronautical-Mechanical Engineer graduating in May 2010. He has been researching under Professor Amitay since his junior year and has been working on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for the AFOSR project. In addition to undergraduate research, Dan is an active member of the Design/Build/Fly team at RPI, and he participates in intramural soccer and gym hockey.

Kristen Gurekovich

Aero/Mech major, Class of 2010, Working on Northrup Grumman project with John and Wassif, Proficient in Russian, President of Alpha Omega Epsilon.

Sam Langendorf

Sam is a senior Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering student working on the NGC project. He is a member of the RPI Track Team and a fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Anda Lupse

Anda Lupse is an Aeronautical Engineering student in the Class of 2012. In May 2009, she began working in the Flow Control Research Lab with Janine Freeman on the AeroCity "Aerotecture" Wind Turbine Project. Currently, Anda is working on SOM Integrated Wind Turbines with Edward DeMauro. On campus, she is involved with the Rensselaer Astrophysical Society, the Society of Women Engineers, and the STEM programs. Her hobbies and interests include rocketry, science, and skiing.

Marianne Monastero

Marianne is a Junior studying Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. She is from Long Island, New York and is working on the NSF flapping wing project. She is also involved in the Newman Catholic Fellowship, Pep Band, and the Society of Women Engineers.

Kevin Mossey

Kevin spent several years in the US Navy after High School, and then he worked for many years as a programmer, before deciding to return to school and get a degree in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering. He is an avid outdoorsman, motorcyclist, and a private pilot.

Joan Stupik

Joanie is currently a junior Aerospace and Mechanical Engineer. She is from Higganum, Connecticut. On campus, she is involved in the Archery club, Society for Women Engineers, Newman Catholic Fellowship, and the ALAC tutoring program. Presently, Joanie is working on a project involving active flow control on micro-air vehicles using electro-active polymers.
